The Programme.

The need to offer Tanzanians an internationally recognised trade skill and reach a competency level that allows them to seek employment both in Tanzania and overseas is greater than ever before. With infrastructure projects happening all over the world as well as within Tanzania, IACA believes this investment in trade skills development will ensure Tanzanians can participate as both local and international stakeholders. IACA will be the first training provider to offer international industry accreditation.

Trainees/Employees

Dialogue with employers across the sectors of industry and select suitable candidates for an apprenticeship program, fully accredited by NACTE nationally and internationally by ECITB-UK.

Trainers

Through a consultancy agreement, ECITB-UK  will provide experience in designing and implementing competency frameworks, materials, and local ‘train the trainer’ packages.

The collaboration of employers and matching their skills needs with the right trade skills is crucial to the success of the business to support industrial development in Tanzania.

Apprenticeship Programme

Target trade skills in the initial phase of the apprenticeship program will be as follows:
  • Mechanical (Maintenance and Fitting)
  • Electrical (Industrial and Instrumentation)
  • Welding (Fabrication and Metal Works)
  • Pipefitting
​Apprenticeship programs will also foster soft-skills such as emotional intelligence, reliability, accuracy, precision and responsibility, which are important attributes for success in the labour market.

*As the facility develops we will be able to support other training skills development over a wider range of skills driven by employers across the many sectors and industries.

Competency Testing

Trade tests and knowledge tests for level 2 and level 3 across the apprenticeship programme trades and also the following:    ​

  • Rigging
  • Electrical Maintenance
  • Non Destructive Testing
  • Plating
  • Steel Erection
  • Instrumentation

International Health & Safety Passport Scheme (IHSP):
1. IHSP Foundation (Available in Swahili and English) - Also available online (see flyer).
2. IHSP Advanced.

Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB):
4. ECITB Chargehand (ICE).
5. ECITB Supervisor (ICE).

Unlock your potential with our Supervisor Training in the Lake Zone, a comprehensive program designed to elevate your skills and lead to a Supervisor Qualification. This course is ideal for individuals seeking Chargehand qualifications and is conducted over an intensive 5-day period.

Course Structure:
- IHSP Advanced: 2 Days
- IHSP Supervisor: 1 Day
- Chargehand: 2 Days

ECITB Accreditation:
- Two levels of International HSE and one level of ChargeHand qualifications accredited by ECITB UK.
- Suitable for HSE officers, Technicians, Foremen, Supervisors, and Graduate Engineers.
- UK Qualification in HSE/Supervision valid for 3 years, renewable.
